Scsi/ide Command Abort

Vid card ATI Rage 128 VR AGP
Sound card Riptide Audio

My problem is this...After installing EAC(exact audio copy) and Adaptec ASPI on my system. if this helps..a check shows
1.winaspi32.dll
2.winaspi.dll
3.aspi32.sys
4.wowpost.exe
The check says it is properly installed and found 2 host adapters.
I am having trouble burning CDs on NERO 5.5 I get this error message midway through the burn..
SCSI/IDE COMMAND ABORTED
I am afraid to go into the system32 folder in fear of really messing something up.
PLEASE HELP.I am at the end of my rope and really need this corrected
