Help needed with backing up Outlook email folders and settings

I want to reinstall Windows Xp soon, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?

****In outlook with office 2003

go to file -->import export
wizard will open up
select export to file and click next
select which ever format you want to export to but make a note of it for when you are importing the data back in. (during the step you may need to install a translator)

After those steps are done make sure you burn the file to a cd or to a location that will not be formatted. Then once you are ready to bring your data back to outlook instead of selecting export, select import from another program.
