help needed.

ok, so I bought this cheap computer from a guy that said it had been locking up on him, I figured I could fix it, but I don't know what to do...I start it up and it looks like its gonna run, brings up XP pro loading screen and then goes to a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted", then the screen turns black and I can't do anything. any help?

format and start from scratch. Then see what happens.

Put in a Windows install disk, go into the BIOS and configure it to boot from CD, then follow the instructions for a fresh install.
