help lost !

I bought a new hd and processor ect.. Got myself the win xp pro, went to install got all th way to typing in the cd key code and it says invalid. This is strange in the fact i used it on a friends comp with no problems. Any help would b greatly aprec.

have had one of those weeks. Just now got this thing figured out. Id like to thank you for all the replies.I finally got smart and started over and removed everything that i could. Went back and reinstalled my os and then 1 by 1 put the stuff back till i could figure out what i needed and what i didnt. After all of that i noticed that there was this little disclaimer sayin it wont work until u push these d@#^ invisible buttons. By the way they r there . This in turn leads to the final result so far so good.
