I like to use keystrokes to insert certain characters while typing. For example,
ALT+0150 gives me en dash –
ALT+0151 gives me em dash —
And so on.
However, there is a problem. Because I use these while browsing in firefox, the keystrokes are intercepted by hotkeys.
For example, hitting ALT+0147 to get “ either takes me back or home (ALT+4 is back, ALT+7 is home).
Both keystrokes and hotkeys occur only when numlock is off.
Now, I did try this question out at the Mozilla forums... but nobody was able to help me.
