is your video drivers installed correctly?
try and run the full tests, the results should help you better beable to see what the problem is

aghh we are getting somewhere. When you re-installed XP how did you approach this? Did you blow out the entire hard disk and reformat? More importantly did you install the chipset driver pack for your mobo? I would try that download the latest chipset drivers for your mobo, install and reboot. See if that will bring ACPI components back for ya (stand by, hibernate etc etc).
