Clark it enables you to connect your laptop to your TV provided your TV has a HDMI input. nice upgrade b/c hdmi not only supports the visual but audio all in one nice lil package.
Fun things like make your TV a big monitor or watch movies, slideshows..... at least that is what I use it for.....
