Exclamation HDDs and DOS

1) I boot into DOS with an MS-DOS boot disk (Windows XP).

2) I access the C:

Example: A:\> C:

3) Then I display the contents of the C:

Example: C:\> dir/p

4) DOS then says that there is 0 Files and Folders on the C:

This is impossible because the C: is the drive which contains Windows XP, as well as all of my other software.

I have a 120 GB Maxtor ATA Hard Drive. I don't understand why I can't access it in DOS. Is it possible that the reason is because 'Large Disk Support' is not enabled in DOS? Anyone have any ideas?

Send a message via MSN to Ste

enable large disc support, cause 120 Gig is "larger disc" but what are you trying to do anyways

Eric is right now the money with this one.I would use the XP CD to boot from it and use the recovery console as this will give you the DOS funcionality and emulation which should then allow you to see all your data.
