Having trouble with Windows 2000

I picked up an IBM Thinkpad A22M for a cheap price to use for the internet while I am on business trips. The problem is that it has an ethernet jack on the back but the network adapter was never installed. I have a wireless card, but I would really like the ethernet port to work too. So, is there an easy way to do this?
