Default Having a really annoying problem

Beginning about 2 days ago, my Windows Media Player AND Winamp are now pausing during songs--like lag. I do not know the cause of this. I'll begin playing about any song, and they'll lag. This also happens when I open Firefox--my music will pause. Help!

Uninstall Both programs, Install the latest versions, Update Windows through Control panel.
Update Anti Virus/spyware Scanners and Defragment Drive.

How much RAM does this System have?

How many running processes?

Have you added any new hardware or Software Recently?

Might be sound driver or audio codec problem. Check those out too...

Going off what Others have stated, Update your sound card or onboard drivers.

Also see if you can't update your Audio codecs for the given programs.

I'll look into it. Keep posting suggestions. Better to have a pile of ideas to pull out of rather than some linear path

Yep. lol..Luckily, I suspected it being that about a day before it crashed so I was able to save roughly 6000/8500
