Having a problem with dual boot

Yeah I havn't had much luck with EBCD fixing any broken or missing files either, but it does rename the install choices nicely and easy to delete defunct installs from the menu.

well can you re-install Vista? if so your XP install should be good just reinstall Vista on the same drive you have now, you'll have to re-install your programs/drivers tho in your vista drive/partition.

idk why this is being so difficult?!?!

i use to have xp and vista in one hdd before and it was simple.
this time i had vista installed on one hdd...then i plugged my other hdd in and installed xp on it...

Hmm, so your Vista is your first boot device? and XP second?.. since your C: drive houses all your Boot files.. I find it better to install XP first then Vista on another partition. surprised that installing XP after Vista worked at all.

That means it is not finding the Vista boot information. Which means it is incorrect. Use the steps listed in the Repair Vista bootloader here to fix it.
