Hard drive won't stop

After installing Norton System Works 2006 on my new system (finished it last night) the C: drive won't stop running and my memory is going crazy (activity lights on the RAM).

Should I be concerned? There is next to zero CPU usage as the drive is running.

norton anti virus is known to be a major resource hogger , i wouldnt be surprised if same is true for system works , i suggest youll get rid of it and install one of these antivirus+firewall combos
1) nod32+outpost firewall pro (paid)
2) avg or avast+zonealarm or kerio (free)

I think I figured it out. It was Norton GoBack. I debated on wheter using it at all but installed it anyway. I disabled it and removed it from the startup in msconfig and all is well now.
