Hard drive went from 300gb-900gb overnight.

Hello, I have a 931GB hard drive and up until a couple days ago it was sitting at like 300gb used out of the 931, today I randomly look at it and it says I have 50gb of free space left and the whole bar thing is red under my computer. I googled the problem and people said it was probably too many restore points so I limited it to 4gb, with no decrease in hd space, then I did a system restore to a date when my hd was fine and still no change. I've also ran virus/malware scan with nothing detected. Anyone know what I can/should do?

Have you cleaned temp files, have you cleaned shadow copies? Have you cleared browser cache and have you checked your Pagefile?

Well, I feel stupid, I just ran CCleaner and everything is back to normal now. Def should have done that before posting. Thanks anyway.
