who knows, maybe somehow you accidentily changed the cluster size when you were formatting the hard drive. you can increase the cluster size so that say 5k of data takes up 65k of disk space. This makes searching a lot faster but takes up more disk space.

Now I dont think it would make that much of a difference though. I would just re-format your hd.
