I'm getting a new HD for my computer (Windows XP pro), just an additional storage drive.

I would like to either:

A. Format it so that one partition can only be accessed by me and the other can only be accessed by another login on the computer
-OR-
B. Make the drive only accessible to me

I haven't decided which would be better, but is is possible to do either?

Neither is possible. If you format the drive it will be able to be seen and accessed by anyone who uses the PC.

Yeah, don't think there's a way with XP. With 2003 you can setup various permissions on folders etc which would do the trick i believe. You can also just encrypt the files so that only your user will have access to them (still browse-able). Right click > properties > advanced.

This is also possible on linux, what a perfect opportunity to switch! :D
