Angry Half life 2 question..?

Hi, Today i bought half life 2(only 4 single playing), installed the game and when i was ready to play it..STE@M! I created an account, type the cd_key and then STE@M was decrypting game files (the moment i am speaking it is a 33%..for about 10 min!) i do not have a good connection..(dial up!:<) Do i have to wait all the time to decrypt the files in order to play the game?

Yes you have to wait for it to decrypt.

Just the once. Once it has been done once it doesnt have to do it again. Steam isn't nice to dual up users though unfortunately.
