Default GooOS (Google Operating System)

There were rumors that google was deleoping their own OS along with a browser about a year ago these rumors haven't died yet so does anyone think it is a possibility that we can see a new OS from them in the next few years?

SideNote: Doesn't belong in the *Nix or Windows forum but it has to be put somewhere.

Well Google already has an impressive collection of products. Google Earch (map), Google Talk (IM Tool), Google Browser (developing rumor), Google Search engine, Google Libriries (archive of books for free), and other goodies I'm failing to think of. Aparently they have some mighty fast clock speeds on the OS. I wonder though if it will be more like a Win or a Linux/UNIX. Will it run .gz/.tar or .exe?

i would love to see a google OS. i don't know if it will appear in the next few years but i'm sure it will happen. it seems a logical way for them to diversify. i think that "when ms did it" they were borrowing aspects of a licensed and closed source distro.
