Default Google Desktop: Don't index email. Just notify?

Well I finally decided to give Google Desktop a try and so far I'm liking most of it alright.

I was wondering though if anyone knows how to stop the indexing of Gmail and just display new mail notifications.

I don't want it to search my emails but just notify me of new ones. Is this possible?

Thanks

That's cool but still doesn't exactly answer my question. I'd like to try something with Google Desktop first. I've been using Google's Gmail notifier and just wanted to go from that to GDesktop without actually indexing my email.
