Default Good media player

I have a bunch of video files, some can only play on quicktime and some on WMP. Whats the best media player out there that can play movie and WMP files? or lots of diffrent types

Ive never used it but ive only heard good things about VLC player.

I'm a big fan of VLC as well...I use it mostly for files that WMP/Quicktime won't read

I also have to give the nod to VLC. I use it rather frequently and I've never run into any problems with it. It also has good options for easily switching between various subtitle and audio tracks.
