Default Good DVD Decoder/Ripper?

My DVD playing software on my computer just crapped out and I would like a free program to replace it. If possible/legal I would also like to be able to Rip DVD's to my computer.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I've never heard of the cave, but DVDFabDecrypter worked great on Fun With Di-- and Jane
