Ghosting

80GB HD
512 MB RAM

Trying to ghost (symantic) old machines (xp, 1.7ghz, 20mb HD, 512 MB RAM) to new machines (above system). Some work fine. Other stop at 25% to 28% with the message:
"...encountered a problem and needs to quit".

tried chkdsk /r does not work

heard there was a patch that solved ghosting 7.5 problem from small HD to larger HD but symantec no longer has it because they don't support 7.5.

the exact message is: "Internal Error 25003. Internal inconsistency has been detected." no help from symantec: they do not support 7.5 anymore.

Did you check out symantec's home page for the exact error that displayed?

I run into this from time to time. Ussually it's related to a bad hard drive on the machine your ghosting to. what method are you using? DVD, CD, Network? If it's cd/dvd, it's possible it's the disk/reader. This is somethign I have seen a lot. if it's network, what is your configu setup like? Hubs are bad for this kind of thing. Switches are the only way to make it work right.
