Getting sick of these unknown problems

Its with zip files and some exe's that i download, and my exe's that i've kept for a while.
I'v tryed check disk, and when i use vista it sometimes randomly restarts and then comes up with a disk consistency check.

Yea I am thinking more hard drive since this quote.... Either get a new one or find another PC where you can download spinrite.

Okay, booted my vista drive, and the boot disk wasn't corrupt after i downloaded, but i've downloaded things to that vista drive before (photoshop) and that ended up corrupt. Going to do a non destructive test on both drives.

Okay, update. Got a brandnew seagate drive, same capacity as old one. Turned HPET off (apparently that was one of the issues) Upped ram voltage by 0.1v.

Same problems are happening.. Wtf.. I'm clueless now..

Have you tried not overclocking and see if the issues continue?

Mate, we've tryed everything.. I was told to up the voltage to see if it stops. This has been happening since not being overclocked

Is it happening in both OS's (XP and Vista per your sig) or just 1 of them? have you tried to reinstall?

Tried reinstall, both os's are doing it, can't even download a 700mb patch for a game ffs.. It downloads, but fails to install becasue it says its corrupted..

Have you run check disk on the drive? With the /r /f parameters?

Yes, did that, harddrive come up fine, no errors. I'm starting to think mobo issue?

Have you run MemTest86+ and a Stress Test on the CPU? Maybe try those first before you jump to mobo issues.
