Default game controllers....

i have my logitech dual action usb plugged in and being the only one in its listed controller 1. now i plug in my gravis gamepad pro usb and then the dual action drops down to controller 2. now with that happening, problems occur. my already set button configurations for games for my dual action now dont work since its listed as controller 2. is there anyway i can keep the dual action as controller 1? thanks
