Fresh install of XP Pro error message / hangs

Well I'm finally working on my own computer this time, but murphy's law...nothing ever goes as planned.


I'm doing a fresh install on brand new OEM HD's. They are both SATA. One is a WD 74G Raptor, the other is a 250G Maxtor. The Maxtor is SATA port 1. The Raptor is SATA port 3.

On install it asked me to press F6 if I want to install any RAID drivers etc....I press F6 multiple times and nothing happens.

Windows boots from my DvD drive, loads drivers and when it gets to " Windows is starting " it hangs.... a few minutes later I get the error:

Unexpected error (32769) Line 5152 D:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\setup.c.


As a side note....when I had my 3.5 disk in and it came up...non system disk, remove and hit any key...I removed it, pressed several keys but nada...I know the keyboard works and is ok on fresh installs because I've used it before for similar tasks.

System specs are :

DFI nF4 Ultra-D
AMD Opteron 165
2G OCZ Plat PC4000
eVGA nVidia 7800GT OC
HP DVD
3.5

Anyone crack this nut ? ! ?
I've been waiting for this system for months now and this is killing me !

Can anyone tell if that error message is Hardware or Software ?

Someone here has to have used a Raptor and a DFI nF4 in combination with Win XP Pro before ......... did you have the same problem ?

Took out 1Gb of ram and the 250Gb HD....XP Loaded right up...

OC...here I come !
