Formatting Windows 95

I need some instructions to format our old family computer that runs Windows 95. All i need is for the disk to be completely wiped before being dumped as scrap.

Use something like bootnuke (google it). There are a few similar free products out there that allow you to wipe a drive at boot and make it to where someone couldn't retrieve the information.

dumping as scrap? you could just take it out...take a magnet to the platters...dissamble it...rip out the platters...and then shred them

Take a 20 lb sledge hammer to it. Many times. Then scrap it. No chance for any data recovery off of pieces smaller than a atom.

Best way is to take a blow torch to it and melt the platters...then you can make a sculpture out of your previous data!

When we destroy hard drives at work (school district), we take the hard drives down to the shop and put about 8 holes in each drive with a drill press.
