Gotta love Winternals! Even if you did fix the problem at hand, you should grab a copy of Winternals. Any good techie should have copies of it just laying around there house.

Windows has a nifty difty 'repair' option...that works...and it saves your data.

This program resets your admin password to nothing.

Remember to use this program for Good. Not Evil.

I use it all the time, and charge people AU$120 for the service. Not bad for 5 minutes work, but it beat the MS Officail answer of "FORMAT and Re-Install Xp"

create a new admin account, then click go into your old account thru the user accounts menu on ur new admin account, then click "remove password". That worked for my xp home sp2.

OLLLLLLLLD post dude. Home edition is way more limited and insecure than professional. I dont think you would be able to do that on xp pro.
