Any idea on how to sort this problem??

Could I do something from the Bios??
It is a Notebook averatec 2300T

Thanks

The BIOS has nothing to do with Windows. So it is not a BIOS problem. Did you set a password hint that might help you remember? If not you might have to contact Microsoft to see if there is a way to get your password back. There are tools out there to due this, but since it requires hacking of the machine, we cant discuss them here.

You are right! Bios has nothing to do with Windows. I was getting confused!
got no password hint.
I will give it a thought.
Many thanks!

Win XP is a piece of cake, so long as you have not pasword protected the admin account...

Restart PC, Boot into safe mode... Log in with admin account.. Start - cntrl panel - user accounts, select your account and remove the password. Restart PC... Login as you.. Set new password.... and REMEMBER IT! lol

axehack, we are not allowed to provide users with information on how to bypass any type of security, ever, as sadly this can easily be used in work environments that would let users gain full control of a system when they shouldn't have it.

All he's saying is log in as an Administrator, then you'll be able to change passwords on other accounts. Nothing illegal there, and you can't do it unless you know the Admin account password anyway.

The idea is that the account is left open soul. Remember the basics of getting around security? Yea, that's exactly what this is.

*IF* the account is left open then it's not bypassing security, there's just no security to begin with lol. It's like a house that's got public access to the front and back doors, but only the front is locked.

If the admin account is left open, then any security measures put into place on the PC would be nullified. But us telling people that an Admin account exists, or that you can change password from an Admin account, is hardly us telling people how to bypass security IMO

Ever work in a domain enviroment? Most the times, a computer will force the domain policy, unless it can't access it, it's rare that the default admin account gets locked in a domain on each individual pc, sure the domain admin account is locked.... Sigh, nevermind, not even gonna argue with it.
