So, I deleted the Vista partition on my laptop using PartitionMagic and did the FIXMBR in the Recovery Console and I still have the Vista boot loader asking me if I want to boot XP or Vista. What do I do now? I've tried FIXMBR twice with no luck.

Im pretty sure that a boot loader isn't saved on your your windows partition. It is saved on the Master Boot Record (MBR). I MBR are is a type of boot sector. So the boot loader should still be loaded. If you clicked to load Windows Vista though there would be an error.

And you are right to delete the Vista's boot loader you have to go into the recovery console and type in FIXMBR but you also have to type in FIXBOOT after you type FIXMBR. If this does not work try this tool:

I used FIXMBR last time I had a older Vista beta on it and it worked, so I figured it would this time.

I used FIXBOOT and it worked. Thanks for the help. :)

boot into xp, go to start, run, type msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab, click on check all boot paths, click on to remove the invalid one, reboot, should be no more
