Anyone know where I can find a genuine (non-bootleg) copy of Win XP OEM. I am a little weird about eBay... I have an old circa 2002 system that works fine, but it needed reformatted. I can't find the old disc... so I want to find and load XP on it for the kids. I really don't feel like spending more then $50. I'd also like to find a copy of Vista 32bit for another system I am slowly putting together too. Thanks.

There is no place you can find them. Microsoft pulled them from all sites and stores as of July 2010. That was the last time they were available for sale via any retailer. It is end of life for XP so there is no place that can legally sell OEM copies anymore. Microsoft pulled it so now you can only get it from auction sites.

As for Vista you can find that on NewEgg.

That's the problem. He can't get an OEM version of XP.

He mentioned wanting Vista for a separate system.

As for XP, there are several online stores selling it but none of them look too reputable. The real problem would be activation. I would say go used but I am not sure of XP is transferable from one computer to another.

Maybe he doesn't have all that money to get 7?

Read Mak's post. Nowhere can legally sell it except for auction sites.
