OK. I realise this is gonna be vague, but I don't know where to start...
OK. I'm running XP Home on a P4, 1 gig of ram etc etc.
I downloaded Service Pack 2 from work (since I only have dial up at home) and put it on a rewritable. when I got home, I copied it to my desktop and tried to run it. It told me the file was corrupt.
However, I ran the exe from the cd, and it worked fine.
I didn't give it much more thought until last night when I downloaed 2 zip files. when I went to open them, it said they were both currupt. So I downloaded them again, and same problem. So then, instead of downloading them, I chose to run/opn them, and the zip file downloaded and then openned properly.
I run ZoneAlarm, Spy-Bot and Symantec Antivirus, and it is completly up to date. I ran a full scan and found nothing.
I don't think it's related to SP2, since I had a problem before I installed it....but maybe that's just coincidence?
Anyone got any ideas? Or can anyone give me a few tips so I can narrow it down?
edit - I was using Firefox 0.9 when I was downloading the zip files...
