Failed boot!!! Need help

Hello everyone!!! My computer was working fine just last night when i shut it off after installing some windows updates...then when i go to turn it back on today it doesnt boot...the BIOS dont even show up...i just have a black screen. If anyone knows whats going on please help me!! It's a gigabyte motherboard if that helps at all running on windows xp home. Thank you in advance

when you press the power button do your fans come on? Checked all your cables?

yes and yes and the only way i can shut it off is by holding the power button...and when i get it to shut off it turns itself back on about 10 seconds later...it was working fine last night and i didnt touch anything

run a windows repair on it, it may sound stupid since you cant see anything but if it boots from the cd, you should see something

It wont boot from the cd because i had my bios set so it would boot from my first hard drive and then a cd but i dont even hear the hard disk spin

so you cant get into your bios either?

nope...no splash screen or anything...as soon as i turn it on its a black screen

could resetting the bios help at all by removing the battery for a while then putting it back in?
