A friend of mine tried to "upgrade" internet explorer as a recommendation from internet explorer. The upgrade failed: they can't remember what the error was, but it said something about possible problems after a reboot. There is not a problem when you login: You get an error that explorer.exe has experienced a problem and needs to close. The task manager shows that most everything is loaded, but explorer.exe. To say the least, the computer is rather inaccessable and explorer needs to be reinstalled, but I'm not sure how to do it without Windows. Can I boot from a LiveCD and then just replace the explorer.exe with a good explorer.exe (I assume not, but I dont' know)?
Oh, and by the way, they don't have the administrators password!
