Seen a virus or malware that removes the "Microsoft File and Print Sharing"?


It's removed every day aparently...

Any thoughts fellow nerds?

Honestly I'm not sure if its a virus or Malware.

There is a guy on another forum I frequent, and I couldn't figure this one out.

He said the filesharing printer sharing is removed at random times.
+ the other machines connected to this database machine shows file and printer sharing errors when it is removed.

All random.

Any thoughts Master Warez?

But from what he says... The machine is on 24/7 (except scheduled downtime)

I would not think that this is a virus or malware. One of the halmarks of Microsoft software is that it will eventually destroy itself. This is the way that Microsoft makes money via upgrades. If all computers with Microsoft software worked perfectly indefinelty then Microsoft would have a hard time selling you and I an upgrade to a new version. However, if they could manage to put some sort of flaw in the software that would destroy key capabilities of the operating system and/or other parts of hte Microsoft made software then they could interest you and I in upgrades.

I am more inclined to belive that this is a normal feature of the OS.
