ESET Issue

I am trying to uninstall eset smart security but when I do it says it can't stop eset service so it won't fully uninstall. How can I stop this service? I looked under admin tools>services and under task manager>processes and I see no such service under either one. What do I need to do?

The Eset Process in the task manager is the ekrn.exe and egui.exe

That is Eset. Stop that and you will be able to uninstall.

Can also do it from Safe Mode as well.

Mak, I can uninstall eset but I just can't stop eset service according to revo. I looked for both of those entries in task manager but neither of them are listed. Any other ideas? Should I reinstall eset SS and then uninstall in safe mode?

IMO, if you can, just use the program's normal uninstaller. ESET doesn't leave much behind like other software does. If you're paranoid about it, just do a CCLeaner run afterwards.

ESET likes to crap like that in Vista, I've had to manually clean the registry a couple of times. NOD32 can mess up your Outlook after uninstalling it too. Lucky you got off easily, I've heard some horror stories from the early days of Vista.
