Error Opening Document. Access denied.

Hey all,

I have an employee that is on windows 2000 that can open most of his adobe files. Some of them will get this error message:

Error Opening Document. Access denied.

The employee was getting the files emailed to him. He opens them and saves them to his C drive. These files are encrypted but he never set them up for that. The adobe files that he can open are not. He is using version 7 and he uninstalled it and reinstalled the most recent version 7. Still has the same problem.

Haha anyone know how to get these files open or why this is occuring?

He doesnt have the permissions. Will have to check on how to take ownership of the files in order to be able to access them.

I was thinking the same but he acquired all of the pdf files the same way. What would make some files not have permissions for him?

The files were sent encrypted. That means that the person who sent them have to give him the rights to view/modify them.

If he took ownership then there is nothing more on your end. It is on their end to either not encrypt it or to include other people in the rights to view/modify the PDF file.

The only other issue is he states he was able to open them a week ago. Now he can't.

Well what was changed in his profile or on his system since then? What has he done that he doesnt want anyone to know about? Cause that would be the only other explanation. Like he went to a site he shouldnt have and got infected.
