ERROR: Could not read control file on NETGEAR server

This keeps popping up that just started today, "ERROR: Could not read control file on NETGEAR server." I click "OK" and it keeps popping up. I have a Netgear USB wireless network adapter connected to a USB port on my Windows XP SP3 computer. I've disconnected it, rebooted, reconnected it, and I still get the same error over and over. I am able to connect to the Internet OK but this error is starting to become annoying. Does anyone have a clue what's going on?

Did what you said and it still keeps popping up. I just grab it and pull it down to the right out of site but it still shows on my task bar. Any other ideas?

Did you find any firmware updates? Or just a driver update?
What's the model number of your device?
