error 0x80070002 for service pack 1

hello. i have been try to install service pack 1 on my vista home premium, but it gives me the error 0x80070002, can I have some help please?

note i bought my computer with vista pre-installed around 7 months ago, therefore i think i didn't get the vista installation with the computer

Yes, I have also followed that link and followed every single step, in succession. They have all failed. Continue to get the 0x80070002 error after agonizing waits...my guess is that what we are seeing has no solution other than reinstall.

Download the standalone SP1 installer. Dont go thru Windows Update.
