Hi,
I've recently came across a problem while accessing some word document files. I use Windows XP with WORD 2000 Pro. I made a back up of half the documents I have in a particular folder yesterday, and today all documents in that folder would not open correctly. When I try to open any of these, a file conversion window will open, asking me to select the encoding that makes my document readable.
This only happens in that particular folder. Every other document on my pc will open correctly. I've tried copying the damaged documents to a disc in order to open it on an other pc, but it tells me that it's corrupt and will not open it.
Is there any way of rectifying this issue or have I lost my data for good. These are very important to retrieve.
I've reloaded the files I saved yesterday and they open perfectly, but am left with these files that won't open.
Can someone help me????
