Default Enable DMA

I try copying any disc to my HDD.. it take lotsa time.. i have got new hardware and i guess copying and small things liek this should work well..

can u guyss suggest me what i shall do ??

Like can i enable DMA to improve performance or is it by default enabled??

also if i gotta enable it then how ??

Cause it really bugs me when i listen to the songs from HDD and copy music from CD to the same HDD.. the sound hangs..

my config is ::

1GB RAM
Intel Dual Core 2.66 Ghz
INtel MOBO D101GGC
160GB SATA Drive

DMA is selected by default. How long does it take and what size is the file that you are copying?

try to copy and will then post it.. but the main thing is my playback starts disturbing when i copy something..

sometime dma get disabled for various reasons. uninstalling your secondary ide drivers and rebooting your machine will fix it
