Is there a DOS command that ejects a flash drive? i know there are pograms you can download for it, but i can't run shareware/freeware at work. but i can write all the batch files i want. Or maybe even in perl? I want to keep it simple so i can create a shortcut on my quicklaunch.

thanks everyone.

Hmm, looked on Google ('dos unmount drive') and as far as I can see there unfortunately isn't any such command.

I just did a google for you and the only stuff i find is for linux, I would wait for mak213 he is the residant windows guru an will be able to tell you if it's possable.

yeah, i've searched for it and there seems to be stuff out there for linux and mac, but not pc. all i keep finding are executables that i can't use, although, i'm sure they work great.

No. There is no way to do it with the CMD Prompt. The CMD Prompt is just like a DOS based system which doesnt tell the different between it being a hard drive or a flash drive. So there is no way to safely remove the drive from the system that way.
