Easiest way to transfer media to new pc?

Hey everyone, I was wondering recently about what to do when i get a new computer. I have about 60 gb of music, photos and videos that I really would like to retain and put on my new computer. What would be the best way to go about doing this? Burning to backup would take forever and not be very efficient so i thought maybe get an external harddrive and put the media on that and then just port it over to the new pc? anyone have any input. thanks alot

Getting an external hard drive would be one idea.

What I do with my multiple computers, is hook them up to a router, and just transfer them. And the transfer speed is really fast.

Will you be reusing the current HD? Just go out and buy a cheap 100GB external hard drive. You can use it to transfer files now and use it to back up all your files in the future, remember backing up is a must.
