Default DXdiag gives Direct Show error?

Hello All, can anyone tell me what hardware direct show addresses? Is it video, audio, both? When I run DXdiag I get a direct show error. I also noticed that in the audio tests when it says I should hear music, I do not. I'm using an Audigy 2ZS with the latest drivers on XP Pro SP2. Any help or clarification appreciated.

**DXdiag has detected that there may have been a problem accessing DirectShow the last time the program was used. Would you like to bypass Direct Show this time? Yes/No**

Yes, allows me to get into DXdiag, No gives me a lockup and I have to manually close it down.

Direct Show is for Video Feeds from the net. They are live feeds from places like MySpace and other places.

As for the error i dont know what to say. I have always gotten direct show errors but i dont get DXDiag errors.

Ah, well at least I know it's not for anything that important. Thanks Makaveli. I was afraid it may pertain to audio or video within games. I think I'll just ignore it
