with the right program you might be able to get one on a 512, barely and definately on a gig card

but make sure you know the exact memory of your card because most 512s are really only 480 or so

what is a program that rips to a smaller file size like 1 or 2 gigs instead or 4 or 5

DR. DivX pro offers the ability to make video files very small, i.e under 512 mb 256mb in some cases and smaller where allowed. I use it to make movies for Ipaqs. Pretty cool...
