DVD to Mp3 converter

i have a dvd-R and it seems to be in flac format. im trying to convert the dvd-r to mp3. my questions is . do i need a dvd drive to convert my dvd-r to mp3? as i dont have one.

You cannot read a DVD without a DVD player.
