I was dual booting Windows Vista and XP for a little while until yesterday I accidently deleted the partition vista was on and was going to merge it with another partition for storage. Now I didn't care that vista was gone because I didnt use it a whole lot but now I have a few problems:

1. I still get the duel boot screen when starting the computer. Ive gone into msconfig > boot.ini and dont see the vista thing in there so I'm not sure how to get rid of this.

2. When using partition magic it shows my disk 1 (which has 3 partitions, i. XP ii. blank partition iii. storage.) as bad.

Please if anyone can save me the trouble of reformatting I would very much appriciate it. I would like to have the boot screen gone and my disk 1 with 2 partitions. 1 being my Windows XP primary partition and the rest of the drive an extended logical storage drive.

when you go to boot.ini in msconfig, click on check all both paths and click ok to remove the invalid one

where does it show that it is bad?
