Domain Question

My company is currently establishing a plan to have a child domain in New Mexico, which will be running Active Directory, and a child domain in Florida, which run AD also. The parent will probably reside in Florida as well. Does the parent domain have to be a physical machine, or can it just be a DNS entry that specifies the parent domain.

If you are using AD then you need to have a parent machine.

on a side note, link the two office via vpn. Saves lots of money compaired to a leased line is usually quicker (iffy statement i know) and makes you look good
