Recently I formatted this PC and installed fresh copy if windows XP with all updates still same problem is going on.

What troubleshoot should I carry out to find out where is the problem ?

Thanks

In tcp/ip properties have you added a preferred dns server?

I found without this that it spends a long time locating the dns server.

It will be something like 192.168.1.1 or whatever the static ip of your domain server is.

I have got that to be assigned automatically.

Although when I tried to aaign DNS manually same problem was going on.

Then I have been advised it is the problem with the boot order : " via network " shold not be first I have to replace that via HDD.

Thanks
