DoD level wipe software

I have a HDD here that I need to wipe as much as humanly possible, like a DoD level wipe.

I searched Google and found some programs but I don't want to use something that might be outdated or something.

What programs do you guys recommend?

Boot and Nuke I use it all the time never ever let me down.

i'll vouch for Darik's boot and nuke as well. Although I never tried to recover data afterwards.

If you want to erase indivdiual files or drives with the OS running, you can install Eraser | Get Eraser at SourceForge.net
