disk cleaner

Whats the go with disk cleaner? On some computers it will run without trouble, but on others, it freezes at the compressing files stage. I dont know whats going on, cause the program is not saying "not responding" and when I close the program, the cleanmgr.exe process runs rampart and takes up 99% of processor time? Anyone had this prob or know of a fix??

Run diskcleanup from safe mode. If it still freees, delete the following registry entry. HKEY_LOCAL_MAHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\CompressOld Files.
It would solve the problem.

hey maverick_tech, the safe mode didnt work, but deleting the registry entry did! Thanks heaps! No more TIF files to manually delete
