Disable MSN Messenger

my apologies if this is in the wrong section. i wasn't too sure where to post it. for some reason i wasn't allowed to post in the off topics section.

every time i boot the pc msn messenger starts. i've gone into the startup list in msconfig and unticked 'msnmsgr'. i restart the pc. for some reason msn still starts and it is still ticked in msconfig. I dont want to uninstall it, just stop it from starting up automatically.

Can't you sign in, and in the options tab uncheck start messenger on login or something like that? Not sure why it keeps starting if you killed it in msconfig.

As for MSN Go under Tools>Options>Sign In and uncheck the Auto start MSN and teh other options. It will go away.
